My thoughts….
The definition of traditional archery and the act of traditional bowhunting often means something different to each individual. To me, the idea of pursuing your quarry on a level field with only stick and string and without the latest technology or gadget to have the edge is the ultimate challenge in bowhunting.
I can remember the first time I picked up and shot a recurve…it was a Martin Dreamcatcher that was receiving little attention at one of the local archery shops/ranges. Just for fun, I thought I’d try something different, then had an extremely hard time putting it down after shooting for an hour and a half. The next week I had my compound sold and was shooting a recurve.
Since then, my newly developed passion has led me to pursue white-tailed deer, mule deer, antelope, wild boar, moose, caribou, black bear and small game. Also, I’ve had the honor of being in Traditional Bowhunter Magazine, in the Aug/Sept, 2003 and 2008 issues.
Up to now, this passion has led me on an incredible journey where I’ve seen many wonderful things and have met many wonderful people. I plan on continuing this adventure with my children as they grow, and I look forward to new hunting travels and new friendships.
